The Olympic Basketball Games for 2008 are well underway.  The U.S. has defeated Australia and will next play Argentina, who are the defending gold medalists.  The United States is ready to win the gold medal in basketball.

Team USA has proven over and over again in these Olympics that they are the best team in the field.  Their dominance is unquestioned and barring a huge upset, they will be the champions of the Beijing competition.  Comparing this squad to the 1992 group is a fair comparison and it is not too early to do so.  The talent level of this summer's finest is incredible. 

The following rounds will be be challenging and the other teams still involved have proven their capabilities.  There is no stronger contender than our own from the United States of America.
