Here is a collection of the top social bookmarking sites in the world for article, video and image submissions.  My site is focused on sports and baseball cards so that is the context to which you can attribute my ranking of the services.  This, however, can be translated and transformed to focus on whichever specialty your site article content is made up of.

One of the top social bookmarking sites that I have found (I am listing it first here so I believe it to be great) is Mixx.  There are always a lot of people that check out my sports stories and pictures of baseball cards and it is a great place to be able to place your articles you find while surfing the Internet.  Here is my page on Mixx and I also have some communities which is another way to get people to notice your niche and articles that you like as well as what others submit to them.

You cannot mention social networking and bookmarking as we know it today without mentioning Digg.  They have a page rank of 8 and more traffic than most social bookmarking places.  They have transformed the landscape and were in discussions with Google to be bought out.  A truly inspiring site for the article submitters, their web site allows all of us to participate in their community and help each other promote sites and news content along the way.  Here is the link to Digg http://digg.com/users/baseballcards

I mentioned Google earlier and Google Reader is a place to share with friends all of the blogs that you read and track as well as posting your own site's articles, photos and neat developments.  I have focused solely on items from my site in particular when broadcasting on there.  There is no Internet as we know it today without Google and if you do not get listed well on Google, you are missing out on a large percentage of the Internet traffic available.  http://www.google.com/reader/shared/00188454886132970618
