Find out the value of your hockey cards here to see what they are worth.

Basically, hockey card values are best understood by seeing what the price is if you were to buy the cards right now, or how much you could receive in cash were you to sell them immediately.  A superb way of having a great opportunity to find out a true value is by joining Ebay if you are not already a member, and checking the completed auction listings.  There are always factors that can determine whether or not a previous selling price is a good indicator of current prices, but at least it is a starting place.  All you have to do is type in a card, box, set or other type of product and search for completed listings.  By doing that, you will immediately see what the item last sold for and on what day it sold for that.  That is a better indication of current market value than any other pricing system can give you in my opinion.  A price guide may say that a card has a catalog value of $10.  That same card might fetch only $1 in the open market on Ebay, or it may fetch $20 if it is very rare and people do not offer it for sale often, as it can create a premium price for the card.  There are examples of this kind of demand, particularly in factory issued autographs from the early 1990's in all sports as these cards have sold for more than book value in many cases.  This also exists in rare parallels from sets from the 1990's as well.  An explanation for this is likely because the odds of getting any of those cards in packs were astronomical in the rarest of parallels and autographs, with some odds reaching 1:10,000 packs or so.  With this type of rarity, even if the boxes only cost $10 each, your chance at finding these special cards is not great in just one box.

On to the exciting forthcoming 2010 hockey season.  The new products are out and the rookies are abound.  This is the time to start stocking up on the players you believe have a chance to do well and win the rookie of the year.  Topps, Playoff, Upper Deck and many other companies have come out with and will be coming out with their new products.  On this page, there are some links to current items for sale.  Please use this page as your source for finding the best listings of cards at the best prices, this site makes sure to value you and make sure that you get the best prices possible on game worn jersey cards, autographs, rookies, unopened packs, boxes, and factory sealed hobby cases.  After all, what fun is buying cards if you pay more than you have to.

Hockey cards have been around for quite some time and are quite valuable.  The vintage years are very valuable and of course, the better condition the cards are in the more they are worth.  As for me, I really like vintage hockey cards and they are among my favorite to collect in the hobby.  I like ones from the 1980's as well, such as a simple Pat LaFontaine rookie card from 1984-85 Topps or O-Pee-Chee.  Recently, card companies have been manufacturing exquisite products such as Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey, ITG memorabilia, Upper Deck The Cup, and many other high end products.  These have autographed cards of hockey superstars and rookies such as Gordie Howe, Sidney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and so many others.

Pictured below as examples of game worn jersey cards from hockey are an Alexei Yashin 2001 Crown Royale game worn jersey card serial numbered to a limited number, as well as a serial numbered Chris Osgood Detroit Red Wings (not in that card though as he was on the St. Louis Blues) game worn jersey card.  To find more free jersey card pictures as well as a great free sports card community, please click here to register.  The site can help you to determine the values of your sports cards.

Upper Deck Exquisite Basketball

The 1980-81 Topps Hockey card set is a great example of a vintage hockey card series from Topps, and so is the O-Pee-Chee version as well.  Here is a link to find 1980-81 Topps cards from all major sports with an emphasis on basketball and hockey.

Here are the key cards in 1980-81 Topps hockey: #140 Ray Bourque rookie card and in O-Pee-Chee his rookie card is number 140 as well.  Wow, what can be said about this hall of fame rookie other than it is a great card to purchase at a value price, which is likely to be found on Ebay.  Wayne Gretzky is card #250 both in Topps and O-Pee-Chee and this is his second year card.  I don't have this card in my collection.  Mike Gartner has a rookie card in here as well, #195.  There is an all star card of Wayne Gretzky, #87 in both, as well as two team leader cards with him on it that are great (#162 and #163 in both as well).  Team Leader card #182 is great too.  Wow what a great set of hockey cards from a vintage year.  There are many more like this in these vintage hockey card sets.
