Fleer basketball cards are a huge part of Fleer sports cards among all of the other great baseball and football cards with an autograph and game jersey cards.
The 1989-90 Fleer Basketball set is not too expensive, yet not overproduced like many sets were in the late 1980's and early 1990's. The set features a great Michael Jordan card, a sticker set including another Michael Jordan card and many other hall of famers. There are also some rookie cards in the set like Jeff Hornacek, Kevin Johnson and Rod Strickland. Those rookies are not hall of famers though and because of that, the set value is a bit limited.
The prices you can expect to pay for the cards is about $40 for a wax box and about $60-$80 for a rack box if you can find one. Rack boxes are great and since it is a small set, you will probably get many cards of Michael Jordan in a wax or a rack box. The Michael Jordan regular set cards books at $15 in the Beckett the last time I looked it up. The other stars and rookies book $1-$4 with another good card being Scottie Pippen's second year card. A complete set is about $15-$20 and they are still readily available. I recommend collecting this set as it is more affordable than the other 1980's basketball sets by far, yet still not overproduced in my opinion.
The limited selection of rookies though pretty much guarantees that the set will not be considered that great for its rookie selection. It makes up for that though with plenty of hall of famers. Putting a set or unopened wax box away of this basketball set might prove to be a smart thing to do. I say it belongs in your collection.

The cards from 2001 Fleer Game Time in football is an awesome set. In the regular cards, there are serial numbered rookie cards numbered out of 2001 and the rookie highlight list includes Ladainian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers, Drew Brees currently of the New Orleans Saints and Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals. Reggie Wayne of the Indianapolis Colts is also a great rookie card to own.
There is a nice game time fame time autographed insert set serial numbered to only 25 sets and the exchange expiration has expired on those. Do not forget when purchasing unopened boxes that any expired exchanges in older card sets are no longer redeemable unless the company makes an exception. The autographs in this set include Terry Bradshaw, Joe Montana, Tony Dorsett, Howie Long, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton and Johnny Unitas. That is one heck of a hall of fame lineup. I do not own these cards, I think I only have a few of the base set cards which will probably be posted soon on the main page of this community.
