Fleer Basketball Cards

My Baseball Card Space Cards

Check out our Ebay listings at user id mybaseballcardspace. Fleer basketball cards started in 1986-87 with the set that contains Michael Jordan rookie basketball cards.  That was the first series in Fleer basketball since the 1960's and it is one of the greatest basketball card sets produced.  It also has a Charles Barkley rookie and many others.  These rookie cards from Fleer 1986-87 may be the greatest basketball cards Fleer has ever produced, with the Michael Jordan rookie card being a superb addition to any collector's collection whether they are a dealer or just a collector.  To register free for the sports card community here, please click here.

This is one of the best if not the best basketball set ever produced.  It has many hall of fame rookie cards.  It is very highly valued and highly sought after.  If you look around enough, you can find unopened wax packs and unopened boxes and they bring top dollar, much more than any unopened box from any year in the 1980's.

Included are many rookie cards as stated with names like Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Chris Mullin, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars and many more.  There are only 132 cards in the set and there are probably 20 cards that are highly valued if not more.  If you had an unopened wax box (first off congratulate yourself because it is worth thousands of dollars) you could open the packs and probably get 3 or more Michael Jordan rookie cards.  There are also sticker cards in the pack that come one per pack and there are 12 in the set.  Michael Jordan has a sticker in there as well that has a book value of over $100.  This set has an extremely high book value with the Michael Jordan being close to $1,000 in ungraded near mint to mint condition.  Watch out for counterfeits though because there are a lot of them.  Buy from a reputable seller when purchasing them (search around on Google if you want to learn more about the cards).  I

If you have these cards in your collection, they are great to own.  You can either save them for the future or you can sell them if you want as they are already very highly valued.  Doing an ebay search can alert you to the value of them.  (There is an ebay widget on the main page of our site)

Good luck in your card collections and if you have any 1986-87 Fleer cards that you did not realize you had, please do some research to find out their value before you trade or sell them without knowing how valuable they are.

Here is another great set that has Jordan's second year card - 1987-88 Fleer Basketball.

These cards are valuable.  1987-88 Fleer Basketball boxes cost $500+ per box of 36 packs on ebay or at whichever place you can find them offered.  The key to the unopened boxes is that you can get 3+ Jordans per box and 3+ stickers of him as well.  A graded gem mint Jordan is worth quite a bit.

There are not that many rookie cards in this set as the year before had and as the year after has.  It does contain good second year cards including the Michael Jordan and all of the rookies from 1986-87.  A complete set will probably cost you about $200, maybe a bit less.  They are worth it and should be in any collector's collection if they can afford it.  Besides the fact that it is a second year card of Michael Jordan, the card and the cards in the set are extremely difficult to find.  They were not overproduced like baseball cards of the era.

Happy collecting and if you have a set or a box of these, you have a nice group of cards that are valuable.

A final set that I will include in this article is 1988-89 Fleer.

The 1988-89 Fleer Basketball set is a great one.  It is highly valued and limited.  It went up in value shortly after its release and features many great rookie and star cards.  It belongs in any collection.

Packs of this set cost about $20 each and boxes can sell for $400-$500+ depending on where you get it from and the condition of the packs and the box.

Some of the rookie cards in the set are Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, Horace Grant, Dennis Rodman, Tyrone "Mugsy" Bogues, Mark Price.  There are also star cards of Michael Jordan (his third year card and as sought after as any rookie card in this set), Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.  There are also all star subset cards of those players as well and also sticker cards.

This set is great to buy a wax box of if you can afford it.  Having a set put away for the future is ideal.  The links provide product listings of items currently on sale at Ebay.
