Donruss Sports Legends are new in 2008 and include some great sports cards including autographs, game used jersey cards and multi color patches as well as dual autographed cards. They contain hall of famers and some players that do not sign autographed material often. Kevin McHale is very popular to get in here as an auto and according to what I have read, this is the first card set that he has signed for. Here is a rundown of the cards you can expect in packs and unopened boxes of 2008 Donruss Sports Legends.
There are 150 cards in the commons set. They include Mirror Red parallel cards serial numbered to 250 cards, Mirror Blue numbered to 100, Mirror Gold numbered to 25, Mirror Emerald numbered to 5 and Mirror Black numbered to 1.
Next there are Mirror Red Signatures that consist of 150 cards. These are a parallel to the base set. They are all numbered to 1499 or less and have the same numbering system as the commons except that the regular autographs are numbered out of 1499. There are also Mirror Red Materials with 150 cards and are all numbered to 500 or less with the same parallel upgrades as on the previous two card types mentioned.
The Legends of the Game Combos have two players on them with swatches on both and they are numbered to 100 or less. The Legends of the Game Combos Prime are numbered to 25 or less.
Then there is a Museum Collection which include 35 cards numbered to 1000 or less. The Museum Curator Collection Materials are 35 cards numbered to 250 or less consisting of the "names and swatches that collectors spend a lifetime trying to acquire" according to Donruss and seeing the names that appear on some of these cards, they are right. The Museum Curator Collection Prime Materials are numbered to 25 or less and there are Museum Curator Collection Materials Signatures numbered to 50 or less.
There are College Heroes and Collegiate Legends Patches cards. The College Heroes have legendary players from college and are numbered to 1000 or less. The 25 cards in the Collegiate Legends Patches are numbered to 250 or less have great player selections as well.
The Champions set has 20 cards and is numbered to 1,000 or less.
Signature Connection Combos and Certified Cuts round out the autographs and these can contain players like boxer Jake LaMotta among a slew of other cards such as a triple signature of Kevin McHale, Larry Bird and Robert Parish. Listed below are items for sale currently on Ebay.
