Baseball card collectors now are from all around the world as the hobby has become popular in many places.  They look for many things when purchasing cards and take great care in storing their collection as it now is well known that the better condition the cards are in, generally that means the more they are worth.  There are also collectibles from football, hockey and basketball but the original ones most well known and popular are from the sport that Topps made famous.

Here are some key things to remember when collecting.  First and foremost, you want to make sure that you know how to store your cards.  In older days, people would store baseball cards in rubber bands or use them for purposes that would damage the condition such as in bicycle spokes.  This is not as widespread anymore because people now know that for something to be valuable, it is even more valuable in near mint to mint condition.  If you do not understand what mint condition is, it is a flawless card with perfect corners, edges and centering and definitely no creases.  There are many different products available when making choices, it is a great idea to learn all about them.  This web site offers many different areas to learn all about the hobby and you will do well to read them all and find out more.

This hobby really became extra popular in the late 1980s as people started driving up the prices of baseball cards by demanding more of them.  Card companies had to ramp up production and people all of a sudden realized that those vintage ones they have from their childhood years became worth a lot of money.  That was a great time for the collectible market, I hope we can see another time like that.
