So far this Olympic basketball exhibition season, the U.S. Olympic Basketball Team has won all of its games.  Here is an Olympic Basketball recap for Team USA.  Team USA has won all of their exhibition games by a wide margin, yet their most recent game proved to be the most difficult challenge thus far.  Against Russia, Team USA won 89-68.  They scored the fewest points that they have so far, and the game was not well within reach until the second half.  It provides a great experience for the United States as they can learn from the game and hopefully outsmart the defensive pressure that slowed them down for the first half of the game.

The exhibition games are proving that the U.S. has many players capable of taking over games.  The depth of the bench can really overcome a lot of defensive pressure as the Team can turn to other players if one is having an off night or if the other teams step up the defensive pressure on the players.  In my opinion, if the United States Olympic Basketball Team can score 100 points per game, or even 89 points in a game, they will be tough to beat.  Preparing for every game assuming the opponent has a legitimate chance of winning the game can put the U.S. Team in the correct mindset during their preparations.  This is magnified by the Games being in a different country and having a slightly different set of rules and typical style of play than NBA games.  The cohesiveness of Team USA needs to blend well by the beginning of the Games and the team chemistry needs to peak when they need it the most.  Team U.S.A. is at a disadvantage in terms of not playing with each other together on the same team year in and year out, but the talent level on the team far outweighs that downside.  In my opinion, if the United States prepares for each game in the best manner possible, they should win the Gold Medal.

It is going to be fun to watch. Go U.S.A!  This article was written by the site owner and administrator of  My Baseball Card Space
