2008-09 Basketball cards have a bunch of great players.  There are Michael Beasley rookie cards.  Also, Derrick Rose rookies complete the top two draft picks.  Kevin Love from UCLA is another great rookie this year.  Who will win the rookie of the year?  Time will tell but there is no doubt that this is a talented draft class.

Unopened boxes and packs are a great way to start out the year.  You can get many autographed and game jersey cards by opening and buying packs and boxes.  Some of the best brands that I have seen this year are Topps Treasury basketball (my personal favorite), Hot Prospects basketball (my #2 choice), Topps and Bowman out of the ones that are out this year, and many others that have yet to be released so far this year.  Stock up early and watch as the players progress through the season.  Greg Oden is also eligible for the rookie of the year this year so it will be interesting to see if there is a lot of competition for it this year.
