The 1989 Bowman Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card, #220 in the set, is a highly sought after and valuable rookie card of a future hall of famer.  It is pictured  below.

When deciding on a rookie card of a future hall of famer, a 1989 Bowman Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card is a great choice.  The card is valued at between $5-$10 in various price guides most likely, and depending on where you shop for it, you may be able to get it for $3 or so including shipping, if you are lucky.  This card has a chance to increase in value over time in my opinion though, if collectors can relive the magic that surrounded this card when it came out.  Ken Griffey Jr. rookie cards were highly valued when they were released, and he lived up to lofty expectations placed on him by the hobby during his career.  Look for the 1989 Ken Griffey Jr. rookie cards to increase in value in the future if collectors start to demand them once again.

Ken Griffey Jr. had a spectacular beginning of his career with the Seattle Mariners, and this rookie card of his is among the best cards you can get of him.  Many collectors believe that the true value is to be found in rookie cards of the players.  I have this card in my collection and am looking to hold onto it for investment purposes.  I think it can hopefully increase in value.  If you are looking for rookie cards from the 1980's, Ken Griffey Jr. rookies should be at or near the top of your list.  This site has many other rookies from the 1980's listed as well.  Please bookmark the page and have a look around, thanks.
