1988 Fleer baesball cards are very great sports cards. There are many great rookies of superstars such as Tom Glavine, Mark Grace, and Roberto Alomar (who is in the Fleer Update set of 1988). Purchasing some of this year's set is imperative when trying to capitalize on affordable card sets with quality players and rookies. Also, joining Ebay free can get you some great deals. On to a summary of the different cards of this year.

The link above will take you to an article on 1988 Topps baseball cards if you want to learn more about that make from 1988. The Fleer cards though, offer their own unique value which will be discussed here.
1988 Fleer contains a plethora of rookie cards as well as current and future hall of famers. This year's set of baseball cards is incredible. I have a complete set put away for investment purposes. Card #286 Mark McGwire is a great card, as is Barry Bonds #322 and Greg Maddux #423. The Bonds and Maddux cards are second year cards since their rookies were in 1987 card sets. Edgar Martinez has a nice rookie card, #378 in the set. Ken Caminiti has his rookie card in here too, #441. Tom Glavine, who is a likely first ballot hall of fame member, has his rookie card which is numbered 539 in the set. Mark Grace, the former Chicago Cub great, has his rookie card with #641 in the set. In the 1988 Fleer Update set, Roberto Alomar's rookie card is #122. Craig Biggio and John Smoltz also have xrc's in the Update set as well, #89 and #74, respectively. This does not include hall of famers such as Nolan Ryan (#455). This year's set and update set make for a great investment.
When purchasing these cards, you can buy single cards. You also can buy unopened boxes, cases, rack boxes, and more. There are vending boxes available, as well as factory sets complete with all of the cards. There is also a glossy parallel of the regular set, those cards are worth slightly more than the regular ones. I have a 1988 Fleer Update Glossy tin set, it is awesome!
