This article will focus on the specific baseball card set - 1982 Fleer baseball cards which include the valuable rookie card of Cal Ripken Jr. There also is the My Baseball Card Space Forum where you can post messages to members, comment on items posted, and find trading partners to buy, sell and trade your sports cards.  Baseball card collections easily are bought and sold here and if you browse the pages, you will find many things to do here and the community is free for everyone to join.  The home page of the sister site, which has article summaries of my baseball card space, is also a great place to locate your favorite unopened boxes and collectibles.

1982 Fleer baseball cards are a popular set, and it contains a Cal Ripken Jr. rookie card, #176 in the set. It also contains a rookie card of Lee Smith, #603. The Lee Smith rookie card has two variations, with one being an error and one being the corrected version.  There is also a very rare John Littlefield error card, #576 in the set with a photo of him that is a reverse negative.  I have never seen this card in person, it is quite a tough find.  There are many hall of famers to complement the Cal Ripken Jr. rookie card as well including Nolan Ryan #229, Pete Rose #256, and Mike Schmidt #258.  There is also George Brett, #405, as well as rookie cards of Terry Francona, Dave Stewart, and Dave Righetti.

This year of Fleer baseball cards will get you a good mix of quality rookie cards, as well as bonafide hall of famers with investment quality borderline vintage material here.  The sets and boxes are affordable, you can probably find unopened wax boxes for $60 or so.  Complete sets you can get for even $30 or $40.  These are a great deal and if I had to guess, I would say that they stand to gain value in the future.

When collecting baseball cards, this year of cards presents you with an affordable set of cards, while maintaining great bang for your buck.  A complete set is a good value, but so are unopened wax packs, wax boxes, vending boxes (4 makes 3 complete sets), and cases as you can get multiple cards of your favorite rookies and stars.
